We have an opportunity for a kind, caring, empathetic and calm professional to work on behalf of our A&E contracts within the Watford area.

You will be working as the crew lead as part of a double crew on one of our ambulances. You will be responsible for assessing patients, providing care and treatment for them. You will be expected to transport patients and their relatives/carers to hospital, whether this be in an urgent or emergency, you will be expected to adhere to the operation procedures and directives of Ambulnz Community Partners and our client NHS Trust.

We assess, care, treat and transport hundreds of patients along with their carers/relatives in urgent and emergency situations every week. We are looking for our next group of paramedics to join our busy ACP team.

Main Duties:
- You will provide a professional and caring service to all patients
- Using your own appropriate knowledge and skills to make judgements and treatment following your level of training and competency
- You must follow the Trust specific scope of practice which will be provided via induction and reference documentation
- Providing the highest standards of clinical and personal care within the inter-hospital and pre-hospital environment
- Responding to operational requirements in a safe and efficient way as directed by the Emergency Control Centre staff, senior clinician, scene manager and any other authorised manager
- Responding to the clinical requirements of the patient and if need be, follow directions from a senior clinician on scene or remotely as per the clinical guidelines/protocols
- If relevant support the lead clinician by providing effective clinical care using appropriate knowledge and skills to assist them with making professional judgements, conducting diagnostic procedures, and providing safe and effective treatments
- Driving all types of approved Ambulance Service vehicles under normal and emergency (blue light) conditions in accordance with road traffic law
- Transporting patients to the relevant health care services, following the correct procedures
- Ensuring safe transfer of patients to and from the vehicles, considering the safety of the patient, self, and colleagues. Using the most appropriate equipment and manual handling techniques
- Providing accurate and legible completion of all relevant documents including the Patient Clinical Records (PCR), vehicle and equipment log sheets
- Able to organise and manage complex incidents until a manage/commander arrives
- If appropriate, in line with Trust guidelines treat, refer or discharge patients who do not need hospital admission
- Utilise relevant information to assist patients, patient advocates or carers to make informed health choices in line with national guidance
- Make reasoned decisions regarding initiating, modifying, or ceasing treatment or procedures and ensure accurate documentation of decisions
- Ensure compliance with medicines management. Ensuring all drugs are stored securely and where appropriate stocked according to both national legal frameworks and local policy
Are you ready to be part of the Ambulnz Community Partners team? To be a part of our crews you need to:
- Have at least 4 years driving experience and no more than 3 points on your licence (for insurance purposes).
- You will hold a paramedic qualification and be on the HCPC register and an emergency driving qualification
- Physical fitness is important in this role as there is sometimes a requirement to reach inaccessible patients in a hurry (lots of stairs), manual handling and CPR
- Have a warm and caring personality with the ability to connect with people.
- This is a full-time position, working an average of 46 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. You need to be flexible as we run a 24/7 service to support the NHS, this includes days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
- EEAST contract - working 10:00-22:00 shifts
- Lastly, you will have quality references covering the last three years of employment history and a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

- Weekday rates: £23.00 per hour, Weekend rates: £28.00 per hour = £59,500.00 working a 4 on 4 off rolling rota - 10:00/22:00
