About this job
You will assist the solicitors in the team with complex litigation at all levels of the judiciary. You will also assist with advice provided to the Union’s officials and to members who may sometimes be distressed. You will provide comprehensive legal secretarial, clerical and administrative support within the Legal Services Team such as monitoring and tracking progress of cases, advice and projects. You will maintain and co-ordinate electronic calendars and spreadsheets; organise meetings and travel arrangement and deal effectively with telephone enquiries and incoming and outgoing post and email.
You will have a relevant qualification as a Legal Executive or a law degree or Graduate diploma in law and you will be seeking to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive, Solicitor or Barrister. You will need a can-co attitude, the ability to work with agility and enthusiasm in a busy team, using your initiative to problem solve. You will have excellent word processing, IT and communication skills and the ability to organise your own workload and manage pressure and priorities appropriately.
