Paralegal – Litigation, Investigations & Enforcement

As a Barclays Paralegal you will be working with Litigation, Investigations and Enforcement team that manages a wide range of legal disputes and investigations, whether or not legal proceedings have been commenced, and either handles such disputes within the team or with the assistance of our panel law firms. Moreover, you will be providing day to day assistance to the Litigation team to enable the delivery of excellent litigation and investigations services within Barclays. What will you be doing?
• Managing the Litigation team’s general email inbox and incoming hard copy correspondence, including to allocate and redirect queries to team members
- Producing management information on incoming matters, assisting with identifying key trends and developments and reporting to relevant stakeholders
- Assisting the Litigation team with internal and external reporting, collating relevant information from team members and helping with matter management platform queries
- Assisting with appropriate matters or queries coming into the Litigation team’s inbox
- Helping with any ad-hoc requirements relating to the day-to-day running of the Litigation team including queries for the small claims portfolios, liaison with the court orders team
- Developing effective relationships with other members of the Litigation Team and the Legal function generally
- Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements
- Evaluating requests from internal and external stakeholders, assess their urgency and address and/or escalate appropriately
What we’re looking for:
- Law degree, paralegal qualification or other relevant legal experience
- An interest in litigation and an understanding of key legal terminology
- Ability to work across a broad range of tasks and with different stakeholders
- Computer literacy with aptitude to become skilled with legal technology solutions
Skills that will help you in the role:
- A knowledge of legal risks and Barclays structure, products and services
- Excellent attention to detail
- A desire to learn about litigation and regulatory process and terminology
- Comfortable using online case management tools and learning reporting processes
