We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Legal team. You will help build processes and systems to support and manage entities within unybrands' growing global subsidiary portfolio. This position will support our business operations in a variety of legal and business matters, including contract negotiation and management, corporate governance, intellectual property, supply chain, marketing and creative, finance, privacy, compliance, dispute resolution and compliance with online marketplace regulations. You will work closely with our in-house legal team and business stakeholders to support the company's operations and growth. Responsibilities include - but not limited to:
- Help unybrands grow, streamline, and manage its global brand subsidiary portfolio, with an initial focus on North American, EU and UK regions, as well as working with cross functional teams on organizational restructuring and post-integration of newly acquired entities.
- Support various corporate governance matters, including helping to organize board and shareholder meetings; managing the production of materials for meetings, including drafting of agendas; creating, reviewing and formatting presentations; and coordinating outreach/liaising with internal and external directors, shareholders and involved stakeholders.
- Respond to requests, inclusive of KYC and UBO requests for information and documents from our internal and external auditors, regulators, financial partners, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in reviewing, drafting, and managing contracts such as vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, terms of service, privacy policies, and other related documents.
- Assist in managing intellectual property matters, including trademark and copyright registrations.
- Support the legal team in ensuring regulatory compliance in areas such as data privacy, consumer protection, and ecommerce laws.
- Assist supply chain team in managing contracts with suppliers and logistics providers.
- Assist in the preparation of draft board and committee meeting minutes, written resolutions, and Secretary's certificates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement compliance programs and policies, including data protection, consumer rights, and advertising regulations.
- Conduct legal research as necessary to support ongoing litigation, internal investigations, and business initiatives.
- Assist in responding to legal requests from internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between our legal team and other internal teams, such as marketing, finance, and product development.
- Provide support in connection with Amazon account verification matters.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking and managing legal documentation and correspondence.
- Support efforts to effectively manage the delivery of legal services including budgeting, recruiting, performance management, process improvements, operations, training and team building.
- Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in a fast pace and an ever-changing environment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the in-house counsel or other senior legal team members.
A successful team member will have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
- Quality paralegal certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in house at an ecommerce or technology company or with a law firm.
- Knowledge of contract law, intellectual property law, privacy law, and other legal areas relevant to ecommerce.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with legal research software, including well-versed with MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook and Westlaw or an equivalent service.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to go into London office 2-3 times a week.
- Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
