We are recruiting for Paralegals to join our Managed Legal Services team in London. This opportunity is being offered on a 12 month FTC and hybrid working basis with a minimum of 3 days working from our London office per week.
Paralegals in this team support and deliver our growing portfolio of legal projects on behalf of all 5 of the firm’s practice groups. This role is in support of an ongoing project within the Public Inquiries & Public Law team who act on behalf of high-profile governmental inquiries, including sensitive matters of national security or public interest. The team also supports government clients advising on Public Law matters, including the drafting of secondary legislation. This is a full-time opportunity which is being offered on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Your Role
As a Paralegal, you will provide support to the team on day to day case work, including the following tasks:
- Developing an understanding of complex issues in order to review and categorise a wide range of evidence in support of a Public Inquiry’s investigations;
- Using e-disclosure platforms and specific systems (full training provided) to implement both relevance and redaction policies and decisions, to provide disclosure to relevant stakeholders
- Taking detailed instructions from fee earners within the team and providing regular updates on progress;
- Attending meetings and contributing to discussions to enhance and maintain the quality, consistency, and value of the team’s work;
- Meeting targets and time recording.
Your Skills and Experience
- Accuracy, good organisational skills and flexibility.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight timescales.
- Exceptional critical reasoning skills.
- Previous experience with large-scale document review is preferable.
- Previous experience using Relativity is ideal but not essential.
- Advanced legal research skills, with a high level of proficiency with Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Exceptional legal drafting skills.
