Background
This role sits within a team of fee earners, and will report to the partner and directors in the team. The role is to fill a need for a commercial litigation lawyer who can take the lead on mid-sized claims with lighter supervision and support partners and senior associates. Work areas include a broad range of disputes and litigation including contractual, commercial and property disputes, product liability and regulatory investigations.
The Team
The Edinburgh Risk and Advisory Group has 3 partners and 12 fee earners. The team is friendly and inclusive and is looking for people who will fit in with this ethos and make their careers here in the medium to long term. The work covers a broad spectrum of commercial litigation/disputes offering plenty of interest and stimulation and involves disputes of all sizes. Clients are typically medium to large corporates including a range of listed companies. The team seeks to involve all members in client relationship building and business development.

The Candidate Required
We are now looking to appoint an ambitious newly qualified lawyer who wishes to advance their commercial litigation abilities and knowledge at a top tier international law practice.
The successful applicant will:
- ideally have gained experience in a large commercial firm and have completed a seat in Commercial Litigation
- have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills
- be a team player with the ability to forge strong working relationships with colleagues in an agile environment
- be well-organised and have good project management skills
- be a good problem solvers and be able to demonstrate an ability to identify key issues, actions required, timescales, and strategy to contribute to the handling of litigation and dispute resolution.
