The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented paralegal preferably with real estate or infrastructure experience for 6 months to 1 year contract, to assist the acquisition team of our client located downtown Toronto. You will be preparing real estate documents and contracts, reviewing purchase offers, and liaising with landlords and property managers. To ensure success as a real estate paralegal, you should demonstrate solid knowledge of real estate proceedings and experience in a similar role. An outstanding real estate paralegal will be someone whose expertise contributes to the timely finalization of real estate transactions.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in various tasks regarding property acquisition transactions
• Conducting and checking due diligence searches, including Land Title and Online searches
• Produce memos, documents, reports, presentations, and briefs
• Follow-up with stakeholders regarding status of projects and outstanding matters
• Connect with co-workers, service providers, municipal officials, lenders, and the real estate community if required
• Review and analyze land and real estate documents for proper completion and compliance with capital projects requirements
• Recommends improvements/remedies, and determines priority processes/actions, potential issues, and associated risks
• Drafting and/or reviewing various legal documents and contracts
• Organizing acquisition files and reviewing outstanding matters until file completion
• Liaising with all internal and external parties involved with the transaction
• Other ad hoc duties, as required

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years paralegal experience, preferably working with various real estate transactions
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in independently and in a team environment
