Role
Forbes Solicitors are looking for a Paralegal to join the Family Team at our Preston Office situated within the city centre. This is a full time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9am until 5pm, however, part time working hours will be considered.
This is a great opportunity for some to join our growing Family Team, to either start their career or progress in their current career and bring their current skills and knowledge to a collaborative and professional team. Whilst the role will be working to the fast-pace, customer focus and high standards of a law firm, the role will also provide a sustainable work-life balance and relate to the regional area in which it is based.
The role will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes such as:
- working alongside other Family Advisors;
- assisting on a range of public Family matters;
- having direct communication with clients;
- preparing legal documentation and court bundles;
- legal research and preparing legal updates;
- using the Firm’s case management systems.
Applying
We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on applications demonstrating the following the knowledge, experience and skills:
- ideally hold the LPC or CILEx qualification (or equivalent) and hold other further education qualifications (e.g. LLB, A Levels) or working towards;
- previous paralegal experience is desirable;
- previous Family or legal experience is desirable;
- have a strong interest to work and develop within the public Family sector;
- have an interest in long term development / progression in the department;
- have the ability to work unsupervised and good self-motivation skills;
- have the ability to work as part of a team and be reliable and enthusiastic;
- good IT skills ;
- excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- excellent attention to detail;
- the ability to touch type would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
