Are you a licenced paralegal with LSO and interested in a teaching career? CIMT College is currently looking for licenced paralegals to join its team of paralegal professionals under the Paralegal program accredited by Law Society of Ontario.
Job Title: Paralegal Instructor
Position Type: Full Time/Part time opportunities available
(32+ hours per week /hourly basis)

Job Summary
Preparing and delivering lesson plans to the paralegal students enrolled at the college, marking tests and exams, maintaining student records, resolving issues for enrolled students, participating in team meetings, assisting students in their learning plans and monitoring outcomes. It also involves content development and improvement of courses being delivered by updating it to current laws and legislations to maintain currency of training material.
Education
Diploma in Paralegal or Degree in Law
Adult teaching certificate is an asset. ( Must enrol for training within 6 months of hiring to meet LSO requirements)
Licence
Must be a Licensee, must be in Active Good Status at all times
Experience
have at least three years of practice experience in Ontario as a lawyer or paralegal, or
have at least one year of practice experience in Ontario as a lawyer or paralegal and have at least three years of teaching experience or a degree, diploma or certificate in education from an accredited or designated educational institution.

Working Conditions
Instructors are provided with the necessary office equipment and tools required to conduct teaching assignments successfully
Duties and Responsibilities (reflective but not all inclusive)
- Create lesson plans and teaching material to deliver courses to Paralegal students
- Delivery of classes as per schedule and meeting outcomes desired by LSO for each course
- Assisting students with their learning needs
- Marking tests, assignments and exams for the course and providing feedback to students
- Maintaining class decorum and ensuring positive learning environment in the class
- Providing guidance to students on the program, its related areas and job market
- Answering queries related to program by prospective students or potential clients
- Ensuring compliance of the program to LSO and MTCU guidelines for PCC’s.
- Input data into computerized databases for student attendance and scores
- Ensure feedback by students after course delivery to enhance satisfaction
- Any additional task assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
