Job description
Busy law firm in Stockton is seeking a full-time Paralegal with experience in legal work. You will be involved in all aspects of our departments, working closely with clients and attorneys. Qualified applicants should be self-starters, good team players, have a strong desire for professional growth, able to follow directions, work well in a fast-paced environment, punctual, and highly attentive to detail.
Duties:
- Drafting a wide range of documents such as Petitions, comprehensive settlement proposals, Judgment and Decrees, Declarations, RFO's and Affidavits.
- Prepare formal and informal discovery requests and responses.
- Analyze a wide range of financial documents, such as account statements, tax returns, personal financial statement, budgets and business financial statements.
- Prepare for mediations, settlement conferences, and motion hearings.
- All aspects of trial preparation.
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel.
- Investigative work and research.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience filing documents with the courts via online and/or in person.
Required:
- Experience in a practice area.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a large volume of detailed tasks.
- Able to quickly learn new technologies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated analytical ability; ability to set priorities and exercise independent judgment; responsible; professional.
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
