Job description
The Classroom Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the supervision of students in a classroom and assisting with the implementation of ST. ELIZABETH SCHOOL, INC. curriculum. The Classroom Assistant will also assist with lesson planning, data entry, and record keeping. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and a passion for education.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a positive role model and mentor to students in the classroom while maintaining a positive, respectful, and cooperative attitude
- Work with the teacher to create an appropriate learning environment for each student
- Assist with lesson planning, data entry, record keeping
- Maintain an organized and clean classroom environment consistent with ST. ELIZABETH SCHOOL, INC. standards
- Perform other tasks related to classroom management and organization as assigned by the teacher
Skills:
- Ability to work with children of all ages and ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of each student
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students
- Experience working in a classroom as a Grade School Assistant or Elementary School Assistant is preferred but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time is key
