Job Description
The processing of day to day activities within the packaging and dispatch department, including the processing and packaging of finished product to strict deadlines to ensure on time delivery of product to customer. The responsibility of adherence to H&S standards set by the business as well as maintaining quality standards to ISO22000 & ISO9001 requirement level with area of responsibility.
- To have read and understood the company safety policy and ensure the safe operation of the plant and designated areas to comply with the objectives of the policy;
- To ensure designated areas are maintained in a clean and safe working condition;
- To ensure that all prescribed safety clothing and equipment is used correctly and is maintained in a clean condition and good working order;
- To report all incidents and unsafe conditions in Q-Pulse and contribute to investigations and follow up actions as necessary;
- To ensure that quality standards as defined by the company standard are adhered to and championed as necessary;
- Will flow to work as needed;
- To pack finished product in preparation for dispatch and prepare full drum orders and maintain OTIF;
- To box and label finished product within the guidelines of air, sea and road regulations;
- To palletise, prepare and check off shipments ready for courier/haulier collections;
- To blend products together to create one batch, also dealing with stock transfers and traded material and booking onto to stock then sampling to QC and relocate when the material has passed QC;
- To pack customer samples to order to the requirements of the sales department;
- To carry out transactions on the company’s system to do with listed daily tasks;
- To release customers’ orders in batch release;
- To bring finished products from production and relocate in the finished goods warehouse;
- To carry out routine checks of weighing scales, and forklift truck and LEV systems;
- To carry out regular stock checks on finished product to maintain inventory accuracy within the finished product portfolio;
- To drive forklift truck (and reach truck) whenever required to load and unload vehicles.
- Picking from stock locations materials for the packers, then relocating back into the location once they have finished;
- Picking RM’s from the BOM to take to production and moving stock on Oracle;
- Unloading deliveries and booking onto stock/smaller deliveries distributing to the relevant departments;
- Work flexibly within the above guidelines and carry out any other duties as may be required by supervisor.
Job Requirements
Formal Training & Qualifications / Education requirements:
- No formal qualification are required, although Good levels of literacy and numeracy;
- Is able to develop within role, i.e. complete additional qualifications;
- Current Valid Reach & Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence;
Experience:
- Experience of working in a manufacturing/chemical environment is desirable, as well as warehouse, logistics and distribution knowledge;
- An understanding of the legislative requirements of working with dangerous goods/hazardous chemicals would be advantageous.
