Acorn is looking for Packaging Operators to work with their client who are a Global Brewing Company. Temporary ongoing assignment. Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off consisting of 2 days followed by 2 nights - 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am Hourly pay rate: £14.00 per hour for first 12 weeks, £17.25 per hour from week 13 to week 38, & from week 39 onwards £19.16 per hour. Primary purpose and function of position: To undertake daily / weekly / monthly activities in order for the Packaging Department to meet KPI requirements for cost, quality, service and behaviours through agreed ways of working. Main Characteristics: The job requires the consistent execution of routine tasks (daily / weekly / monthly): Within agreed ways of working.To agreed timescales.With attention to detail.As part of a Team Scope: Operating various machines within the DepartmentFrom start to end of Packaging Operations, including raw materials.Employees may be required to work within any area of their department, subject to operational requirements, provided. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Key Tasks: Comply with all Statutory & Legal requirementsComply with all Safety, Health & Environment requirementsComply with any appropriate packaging or food hygiene safety regulations as defined by policy or legislation, such as HACCPComply with all Product & Process Quality requirementsComply with all Housekeeping, Cleaning & 5S requirementsComply with basic asset care requirements. This is a requirement for all operators, not just those that previously had the Asset Care grade Operate Packaging Equipment in order to ensure the department delivers finished goods of the right quality, at the right time and at the right cost to the logistics departmentUndertake improvement activities to ensure the department meet the KPI (Key Performance Indicators) Targets, such as PI tracking (Performance Indicators), Short Interval Control (SIC)Undertake training for new skills & tasks within Packaging Department in line with PDP's. The primary objective being to up-skill those with fewer skills.Undertake any packaging related tasks, as directed by the Multi Operator or First Line Manager.Attend Meetings & Briefings as necessary.Comply with all documentation and transactions required to operate and improve performance in the department.Ensure that all internal customer requirements are met. Key Skills, Knowledge & Competencies: Education: English & Mathematics Standard Grades or equivalent.Packaging or Engineering based qualification preferred. Experience: Packaging and or Engineering experience an advantage - Autonomous Maintenance.
