ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. What will you be doing?
To support the optimisation and technical improvement of our production packaging line, both equipment and processes. Working in a team of 3 you will work with your supervisors to identify and manage medium sized projects, improving the way operating problems are dealt with and implement corrective actions to ensure no future failures – we call it the 100-year fix!
You will;
- Assist in managing the technical and plant related aspects of Safety, Hygiene, Environment and Quality consistent with procedures and targets to meet legislative and regulatory compliance.
- Use continuous improvement techniques/tools (ie. Lean Six Sigma)
- Development of systems to measure key plant technical performance and output
- Lead and assist in coordinating problem solving effort requiring technical input
- Identify non-optimal plant operations (including use of utilities/energy, sugar loss, material waste) and work with the operations/engineering teams to improve packaging/process operation
This role is based on site in our Thames Refinery in London.
What are we looking for?
- Educated to degree level, preferably in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Chemical engineering
- Relevant working experience in a similar manufacturing operation /role
- Good technical understanding of process flows and unit operations
- Technical knowledge of packaging operations would be advantageous
- Knowledge of safety, hygiene, and environment regulations
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with a desire for personal development
