Packaging Specialist

How you will contribute to LifeNet Health’s success:
As a Packaging Specialist you will receive, document, and complete data entry for receipt of processed contract tissue, print and reprint labels for all tissue types, label and crosscheck LifeNet Health Finished Goods Tissue as needed, maintain inventory control for the finished goods storage area, release finished goods tissue into inventory, work closely with Quality Assurance (QA), Information Systems(IS),Production, Purchasing and Production Planning, as needed.
Important: You will be required to sit, stand, bend, walk and lift up to 50 lbs. for the duration of the shift; as well as wear personal protective equipment to include: surgical gowns, masks, visors or goggles and caps.
This role is critical to the LifeNet Health mission because it is an important step in taking the donor’s gifts and transitioning them to the lifesaving and health restoring allografts for patients around the globe.
What you’ll do:
- Receive and document the receipt of processed tissue from contact clients. Perform data entry of production records for tissue processed by contract clients. Access FTP site to generate contract client process orders. Perform receipt of tissue from production and complete data entry, as assigned. Perform printing of labels and relabels for all product types. Assist with unpacking of tissue from irradiation facility. Pack and ship tissue to irradiation facility, as assigned. Perform quarterly dose audit verification for all product types.
- Correspond with QA, IS, Production, Purchasing, and Production Planning, as needed, to resolve issues and deal with daily tasks within the department. Initiates CAPAs and performs investigations and root cause analysis for nonconforming materials/conditions as necessary.
- Work closely with Inventory staff to ensure returned tissue is relabeled. Works closely with internal and external auditors in relation to label printing and reprinting
- Perform transfer of tissue and documentation and traceability of tissue transfers to Research & Development, Distribution, and Production departments in accordance with Quality Systems standards
- Assist, as needed, to receive, inspect and stock packaging and labeling supplies. Maintains accurate inventory records and performs cycle counting of supplies as necessary. Performs equipment maintenance and monitoring as necessary.
- Perform daily recording of required Key Performance Indicators on the by hour by day chart (e.g. orders pulled and grafts pulled) and provides reports to management as required.
What you’ll bring (Minimum Requirements):
High School Diploma or GED- Two (2) years of related receiving and inventory control experience
- Two (2) years of SAP experience preferred
- Two (2) years manufacturing, production, tissue bank, organ procurement, medical device, or related industry preferred
