Job title: Carer/PA
Pay: £12.50 per hour (NHS Band 3/4)
Place of work: Employers home, in Winstanley, Wigan.
Hours: 16.5 hours a week
Shifts: Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays: 2:30pm-8pm
Job description: We are a family based in Winstanley, Wigan looking for someone to join our team of 5 Personal Assistants for a 21 year old young man who has complex special needs: quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy, chronic chest problems, and is registered blind.
You will be a 1:1 PA supporting my son in our home, your role will involve supporting with meals, bath time and bedtime and so will include full personal care, hoisting, preparation of medication and feeds etc. You will also be assisting my son with activities/hobbies throughout the afternoon so a good sense of humour and some experience with children would be beneficial. You may at times be needed to accompany my son on days out or to hospital appointments. We are hoping to find someone that he can develop a good relationship with and can act as a companion, supporting him with any activities and day trips alongside his care needs, therefore care experience is desirable but full training will be given as we are more interested in finding the right person to suit the role.
