Air Officer Wales is responsible for delivering RAF engagement in Wales and be the MOD Welsh Language Champion. Regular attendance to high profile events and, as such, requires someone who can manage his diary commitments and social media presence. The incumbent of this job must be bilingual; enabling RAF in Wales to meet all our legal obligations as set out in the updated Defence Welsh Language Scheme.

Job description
The successful candidate will help plan and manage the day-to-day support to the Wales based Air Officer team. Establish themselves as the Point of Contact for the Air Officer Wales and Defence Welsh Language Champion.
The Air Officer Wales PA work is captivating and highly rewarding!! Helping the Air Officer to build and maintain effective working relationships with other RAF units across Wales and with key staff across the MOD. The successful candidate will also support and interact with civilian agencies externally. Manage tasks effectively and work closely with colleagues of all ranks and grades, military and civilian.
- Plan and post bilingual Tweets on the RAF in Wales Twitter page.
- Coordinating UK based engagements, including bookings, hospitality, and travel.
- Working with other departments within the Ministry of Defence and outside agencies to ensure events run smoothly.
- Providing IT support for staff such as organising hardware and software updates, maintaining the online shared area, and providing assistance on the use of electronic devices.
- Maintaining Air Officer Wales team documentation and publication in compliance to the protective markings of each document based on its content and security policy.
- Helping the on boarding of new personnel and other administration in conjunction with the Ministry of Defence Air Officer Wales team.

Person specification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Very strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
Communicate fluently in Welsh, both verbal and written to a good standard.
Knowledge of Devolution and how Wales is governed.
