Job description
WE ARE RECRUITING!
*** Please send over an email/ apply through Indeed detailing why you think you’d be great at the job. Please include your animal experience and qualifications. A formal CV isn’t required unless you think this would help your application. ***
Derbyshire based premium pet and property business
We are expanding and looking to take on 1 or 2 house sitters to join our small but growing team.
Ideal candidate needs to have:
- Previous experience working with/owning multiple dogs of different breeds and temperaments
- Experience with reactive dogs and separation anxiety
- Experience with small animals, fish and parrots
- Equestrian and livestock experience isn’t essential but would be a big bonus!
- Ideally works from home, our clients pay a premium for us to be at home with their pets so this wouldn’t suit someone who has to keep leaving during the day such as a dog walker. We all work from our laptops 9-5 usually with a dog or a cat on our laps and this works perfectly for our clientele
- Professional, smart, clean and tidy. We look after large mansions and manors and you need to be competent at managing large properties on your own with the where-with-all to deal with emergencies such as a burst pipe or the boiler breaking.
- Ideally pet first aid qualified with a recent DBS certificate or looking to gain these
- Any experience in a commercial kennel, cattery, equestrian groom or farm hand would be fantastic!
Rates of pay: £60-£90+ per day dependent on the number and type of animals you can look after
Location: We operate between Sheffield and Manchester but do receive regular work in Lancashire, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and as far as Scotland and Kent. Travel outside of the core areas is paid for. It would be great to find someone who is happy to travel but it’s by no means a prerequisite as we have plenty of opportunities within the Peak District
Hours: The hours and frequency of work are entirely up to you within reason.
This is a great position to top up your income around other remote/freelance work whilst staying in some amazing houses and looking after some gorgeous pets.
That said its not all fun and games and the work can be hard with sick and injured animals, broken boilers, cleaning up toileting accidents, dealing with broken fencing in the snow/hail/rain etc. It requires a conscientious self-starter who isn’t afraid of hard work. This is a lifestyle choice rather than a get rich quick scheme. We love it but it’s not for everyone
