Taste Of Africa North East is a small business in Middlesbrough. We are professional, agile, and our goal is to To target the local African community and build a knowledge base of our history heritage. To build relationships within the community by connecting with local businesses, schools, and local authorities. To develop creative arts projects in order to engage the younger generation and acknowledge their achievements. To use our platform to educate the community on the importance of diversity. To develop the charity over the next 3 years in order to secure our community relationships, build local sponsorships in order to sustain the work that we do. To employ young people to build roots in the community and a foundation from which the charity can grow and develop whilst offering professional opportunity and experience to young African members. To provide African communities a platform for them to showcase their art and talent..

We are seeking an Outreach Worker to join a team of outreach professionals who focus on engaging communities to reduce homelessness. The successful candidate will help develop and run outreach programs, will work directly with the homeless population and will be responsible for gaining a deep understanding of their needs in order to create meaningful solutions for their problems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop projects that will benefit the community.
- Manage a budget and financial reports.
- Create partnerships with other organizations.
- Be physically ready to engage in tasks such as lifting objects, moving furniture, and working outside in all kinds of weather.
- Communicate basic information to people in crisis.
- Provide emotional support to people in crisis.
Working with creative practitioners to develop and deliver an event in Tees Valley in July.
To be the main point of contact for the network, providing regular communication and update.
- Create visibility of BCAN in Tees Valley through collaborations.
- Develop the membership of BCAN in Tees Valley.
- Working with BCAN network to develop and deliver a main event.
- To develop the planned programme by creating new partnerships and opportunities in the community.
- To work closely with different communities to promote the event and artists.
- To project manage the development of BCAN website, maintain and update the website.
- Use our project to create well-evaluated replicable working models which we can share nationally.
- Manage budget for project.
- Maintain records and filing systems, ensuring adequate documentation of project for evaluation
- Work as part of the Taste of Africa Northeast team, liaise with the general public, be involved with the day- -day
The successful candidate will:

- have a real desire to increase participation and engage hard to reach groups
- have a flexible approach to working hours (the nature of this role will mean evening, early morning and weekend work may be necessary to engage with the target groups).
