We are looking to appoint a cheerful and motivated person with great interpersonal skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of customer service to work as ourOutpatient Receptionistat West Cornwall Hospital.
We are a busy Outpatient area covering a range of different specialities, with a team of committed and professional staff. It is our staff that make the difference every day, helping us in turn to make a difference to both our patients and visitors.
Our Outpatient reception area is extremely busy providing a focal point for receiving patients, visitors, and staff to the hospital. You would be coordinating the patient’s administrative pathway through the department from arrival to them leaving. The role is essential to ensure that all clinical activity data is accurately captured and recorded daily and that each and every patient feels they have been dealt with care and compassion.
Receive patients into the reception area with a professional, courteous, can-do attitude.
Record patient’s arrival on the relevant IT programme
Notify/escalate any issues to the relevant person in a timely manner
Outcome and book appointments accurately and efficiently as requested
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
Ensure accuracy of data by using batch reconciliation and other appropriate software to check work has been completed
Send for, prepare and Tracer any notes that are required
Print out lists and help with the preparation for the following day, raising issues in a timely manner
Always protect patient confidentiality
In providing a front of house service, contact with patients, carers, and all members of the multi professional team will be professional, clear and accurate at all times.
