About us
Dibden Park School is a brand-new school based in Southampton, due to open in September 2023. Dibden Park School will place 60 students and will cater to students with social and emotional mental health and other complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and develop with a new staff team in a newly established independent special school.

Job Description
- To safeguard children on ODE activities.
- To plan and deliver Outdoor Developmental Education (ODE) sessions at Dibden Park School
- To ensure that programmes are effective and developmental learning is suited to individual needs (SEN) allowing for effective progress and personal growth.
- To provide access to and experience of ODE activities including Bush craft/ Forest School, Archery or Air Riffle shooting, Climbing, and Paddle sports. These may also include Mountain biking, Caving, sailing, Archery/ Air riffle shooting and walking/ navigation. This list is not prohibitive and applicants with other skills should not be afraid to apply.
Essential
- An understanding of safeguarding.
- Experience of teaching young people with SEN’s
- Good organisational and verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to respond sensitively to others.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good records of attendance and punctuality
- Effective record keeping;
- Understanding of SEN statutes, policies and processes
- Willingness to undertake further training
- Experience of liaising with parents and outside agencies.
- Safeguarding understanding and good practices
- Experience of how to develop, analyse and implement interventions
- Working with autism
- Experience of how to develop implement interventions
- Understanding of SEN
