An enthusiastic and personable Activities/Programme Manager to work within the Lancashire Outdoor Education Service at Lancashire County Council .
Refresh your passion for the outdoors and become a vital part in our activities and programmes in the picturesque setting of Windermere. We are looking for a compelling , fun-loving individual with a spring in their step to join us in facilitating adventures for others. You will need a background in outdoor education as well as the appropriate qualifications to ensure our client groups get the most out of their time here at Tower Wood. Leading residential and non-residential groups on their journey of the outdoors, inspiring a love of nature and active lifestyle, we want you to promote outdoor education in an inspirational way!

What we are looking for…
Passion – you will have an abundance of energy and drive to create memorable experiences for the groups you lead, with exemplary planning and organisation – your passion for outdoor activites will need to shine through in your service delivery with precise planning and preparation of all activities – we want you to use your initiative to ensure the right people and resources are in place, thinking logisticly so all outdoor activities run seamlessly – you will be supporting your groups while their out and about on their expeditions as well as supervising various activities to ensure service delivery is of the best quality
Leadership – we're looking for someone with excellent leadership skills; engaging, approachable, and communicative, who instills confidence and respect amongst their team and those joining us for activities - each morning you lead team meetings to discuss the requirements and goals of the day, discussing any changes to plans that may effect the quality of the service – you will also play a key role in the centre leadership team and attend weekly meetings to review performance and challenges – we are an established outfdoor learning service and this is a great opportunity to tap into management within the outdoor industry
Challenge – a day in the life of an Outdoor Activities Programme Manager is never straightforward so you will need to use your initiative and be a master at problem solving – we want you to always be prepared for changes and be able to find the right balance in your workload thus ensuring you can enjoy the activities as well as everyone else – you will be the one to make sure things happen, using effective time management and co-ordinating with your colleagues – we are fortunate to have many experienced and qualified people in the team with an amalgamation of different skills across all our sites – there needs to be plenty of flexibility within the service so technical support can be lent to other centres when needed
