An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre for out of hours Crisis workers. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our expanding team to cover on call weekday nights between 7pm and 7am and weekends 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am. Please note you must be able to offer both weekday and weekend availability.

Crisis Workers are the first point of contact for clients accessing both medical and emotional support through the Bridge and provide a 24 hour 365 day service for the populations in Avon and Somerset Gloucester Swindon and Wiltshire. Crisis workers support victims of sexual assault when they need us most, from helping to gather forensic evidence through to linking with sexual health, advocacy, counselling and other specialist support.

If you are enthusiastic motivated and feel passionate about supporting adults, children and young people at what can be times of great vulnerability and trauma and want to play a key role in ensuring high quality client-centred care in a trauma informed environment then this role is for you.

Crisis workers are paid an on call rate of £22.96 per shift plus holiday entitlement and are paid hourly when called out at at an enhanced band 5 hourly rate.

  • The post holder will be based in the The Bridge and will manage all client referrals into the SARC
outside core working hours.
  • Consider the physical, sexual, emotional and cultural wellbeing of clients in the assessment and planning process.
  • To receive and respond to telephone enquiries about sexual assault from first and third party reports, assess cases and refer on to appropriate professionals or agencies
  • To provide telephone information and support; assisting the administration and management process of a client visiting the SARC, providing advocacy support for the client and ensuring a high standard of DNA decontamination between forensic cases
