DESCRIPTION
The BURM Institutional Securities Documentation Team covers the contract negotiation function for trading agreements for Fixed Income (including Commodities) and is currently looking for a derivatives and financing documentation negotiator with a focus on institutional clients of the Fixed Income, Commodities and Finance Divisions. The role involves collaborating with various areas of the Firm, interacting with external clients, and negotiating different types of derivatives documentations.
Identifying necessary documentation for the clients to trade securities or OTC derivatives and perform related due diligence scans.
Drafting and negotiating legal documentation (included master agreements, amendments, and ancillary documents such as ISDA, MRA, DF related documents, CDEA, ACAs etc)
Handling client negotiations and any related projects to ensure timely execution and completion.
Liaising with internal stakeholders in Credit, Risk Management, Legal and Sales to negotiate contractual terms and respond to internal and external questions
Understanding and adhering to established procedures.
Communicating with clients and external counsel.
Keeping abreast of market developments and sharing updates with internal stakeholders
Updating internal spreadsheets and systems with document or status data #LI-KF1
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in a law firm or the financial industry negotiating trading agreements. Preferably employed by or seconded to a bank in a documentation /business support role.
Demonstrable experience in having negotiated ISDA or MRA legal documents.
Education Level: Degree in law / business administration degree or equivalent
Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent people skills (this individual will interface with a variety of people with different skills and seniority levels), general comfort with Technology (particularly Microsoft Word and Excel); a quick learner - including learning internal computer systems, ability to set, track, achieve and report on short/long term goals and projects
Essential Characteristics: Organised, detail-oriented, self-starter (highly proactive), comfortable interacting with junior and senior colleagues, commercial, willing to assist / teach other members of the team, ability to work collaboratively on group projects and independently on individual assignments
Stock Lending GMSLA negotiation experience would be useful, but not essential
Languages: French, Spanish, Italian or German would be useful, but not essential
