Job description

As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant with our practice, you will be responsible for assisting our provider in delivering quality care to patients. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a team environment, have a “can do” personality, and be able to complete their assigned work timely.

In addition, the individual must display open communication to co-workers and a commitment to patient satisfaction. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care. This is for a full-time position, 5 days per week. From the outset, we will help to train you and bring you up to speed.

Essential Responsibilities: • Prepare the operatories, the surgical trays by selecting and setting up the instruments and the needed materials

  • Welcome surgical patients to the operating suite
  • Prep the patients for surgery
  • Assist the surgeon
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative instructions, discharge patients
  • Schedule follow up appointments, maintain accurate patient records, calling patients, EMR documentation
  • Comply with protocols and standards; sterilize instruments according to CDC and OSHA regulations
  • Uphold a positive rapport with staff members and patients at all times
  • Demonstrate safe and cost effective practices when utilizing supplies and equipment
  • Undertake lab tasks if needed, maintain all clean up of consult rooms, OR surgery rooms and all other clean up duties required by the back office staff
  • Keep the surgical supply well-stocked Skills
  • Proven experience and knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization methods
  • COVID-19 precautions: • Personal protective equipment provided or required
  • Temperature screenings, social distancing guidelines in place, sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place and required
  • Support shared vision and values, independent always one-step ahead
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations • Good computer skills • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail, well-organized and reliable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
