Our ideal candidate has a strong background in electro-optical engineering, optical design, spectroscopy system design, testing, and optimization. You will play a crucial role in advancing our hardware product line and ensuring the highest quality and accuracy in color measurements. This role offers a unique opportunity for a self-starter to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In this role you will/are:
- Design, develop, and optimize spectrometer modules for precise and accurate color measurement. This includes the design and selection of lenses, filters, diffraction gratings, sensors, light sources, and signal-processing electronics.
- Proficient at calculating or modeling theoretical optical system performance and hands-on lab development and testing experience.
- In-depth understanding of dynamic range, signal-to-noise ratio, quantum yield, optical transmission/reflection, etc. Conduct trade-off analysis to balance cost and performance.
- Serve as subject matter expert on optics, gratings, sensors, illumination sources and accompanying electronics to drive new product development.
- Knowledge in optical design software and simulation tools, to optimize spectrometer module design. Conduct noise, tray light and tolerance stack up analysis to improve system efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to design and build prototypes of spectrometer modules for performance evaluation and testing. Validate the prototypes within the larger system.
- Design and develop testing and validation procedures to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and stability of spectrometer modules and their transfer to production. Identify and resolve technical issues or limitations during the development process.
- Document and communicate the technical details of the system and testing results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay up to date on emerging trends, technologies, and standards in the field of electro-optics, spectroscopy, and color measurement. Evaluate and recommend potential enhancements or modifications to existing products or future developments.
Experience & Qualification
