Key Qualifications
- Strong engineering background in classical linear optics including wave optics (diffraction, interference, scattering), geometric optics, and/or polarization optics in optically birefringent media
- Strong capability in mathematical modeling for simulation studies to design optical devices and to solve optical problems
- Proficiency in computer languages (Matlab, Mathematica, C/C++, Fortran, Python, etc) for simulations and modeling. Experience in commercial tools of optical simulations is preferred, but not required
- Hands-on experience in prototyping, and optical system design.
- Understandings in the basics of optical measurements and equipments.
- Strong creative/analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Description
This position is focusing on the development, prototyping, and flawless execution of technologies to enable the best front-of-screen user experience of current and future Apple products. The team features a collaborative and hands-on environment that fosters engineering excellence, creativity, and innovation in the interdisciplinary areas of optics, device fabrication, LCD, OLED, circuit driving, image process, color and vision science.
Education & Experience
- Ph. D in Optical Science/Engineering, or - Master/Bachelor degree in Optical Science/Engineering + 5 years or longer experience in optical science/engineering at industries or academic institutes

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $130,000 and $196,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
