Job description

It’s an exciting time to be part of QinetiQ. We are always looking for great people to join us as we continue to grow into new markets around the world. We currently have many opportunities and would love to hear from candidates who are interested in joining us now or in the future.

If there is alignment between your skills and the opportunities currently available, we will be contact. Should there not be anything suitable at present, with your permission, we will keep your CV on file for consideration as future roles become available.

About the roles

QinetiQ provides critical support to our customers in uncrewed systems experimentation and capability development. QinetiQ has expertise to develop bespoke functionality and works closely with suppliers, customers and partners in the demonstration and evaluation of systems, including in the hands of user.

We are growing our team, initially with roles focussed on small/medium Uncrewed Air Systems (rotary and fixed wing), recognising this capability is integral to experimentation across Land, Air and Maritime sectors. This team will operate across sectors.

The growth includes roles such as

Functional Team Leader, who will have responsibility for coaching, mentoring and developing others, as well as directing and delivering the overall capability growth, including shaping the required operational infrastructure and competencies for safe delivery.

Systems Integration Engineers, who will understand the functionality and performance of an uncrewed air platform at a component and system level, and will be actively involved in integrating and upgrading components according to experimentation and trial needs.

Ux Trials and Experimentation Engineers, who will understand the macro-environment, including regulation and risk management across domains, and be able to devise experimental concepts, then write trials plans and deliver, acting (now or in the future) as Uncrewed Trials Safety Manager or Trials Lead.

Technical Leads, who can see the whole picture and lead project teams in development of proposals, and lead the delivery of capability demonstrations.

These roles sit within systems engineering practice, underpinning the system level view our customers call on. You will work closely with others and often have direct contact with internal and external customers, including teams developing bespoke technology and looking for a route to demonstration.

There are opportunities at differing levels of experience; from seasoned leaders able to drive QinetiQ’s broad capability, to those looking to build on their existing uncrewed systems experience. The roles require varying degrees of working on site with equipment (locations across UK), and working away from home during trials; our approach is one of flexibility around the requirements of the work.

Please note that all applicants must be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum.
