Operator Technician (Colnbrook, Slough)
What will you be doing?
Due to the planned expansion of our Colnbrook Rail Terminal Operations, we are looking to expand our team of Operator Technicians to perform safe and efficient train unloading duties and pipeline operation as part of the Colnbrook operations team. This will include product sampling, testing and monitoring pump operations. You will also undertake operational maintenance and inspection duties for the terminal and pipeline facilities.
The role will primarily provide the operating requirements for the Colnbrook Rail Offloading Terminal and its Pipelines. The role may also to provide support for maintenance and operational duties within BPA’s scope of activity. Although previous experience with practical hands-on skills from an operational environment would be beneficial, full training will be provided to all new starters.
The site operates 24/7, 365 days a year, and the role will include shift work, including days and nights.
What do we need from you?
- Operational “hands-on” background and have general expertise in mechanical equipment and working methods would be beneficial.
- Ability to work under pressure and provide a response to emergency situations, including dealing with authorities and statutory bodies, under the instruction of Colnbrook line management.
- Desirable - Full driving licence.
- Basic PC skills are essential for use of spreadsheets, computerised maintenance systems and sending emails.
- Desirable – Knowledge of fuel handling, pipeline operations / pumpstation and reception facilities
- Desirable - Awareness of Health and Safety in an industrial environment, knowledge of statutory legislation on HSEQ matters and working understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work.

Salary
Basic salary £33,820 - £36,220 (inclusive of shift allowance)
