THE ROLE
The Operator role is responsible for the operation, troubleshooting, rectification of faults, problem solving and continuous improvement of production equipment and processes.
The Shift Operator will optimise processes, identify and eliminate loss and waste and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve availability and reliability.
The position reports directly to the Shift Team Leader.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operating the plant to ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
- Carrying out plant-related routine duties to ensure plant performance, availability and reliability is maintained to a high level
- Performs fault diagnosis and reactive maintenance as well as proactive monitoring of the process performance trends to spot errors or anomalies and address them before they affect production
- Using a Distributed Control System (DCS) system you will be required to start, stop and monitor turbines, boilers, pumps, water treatment plant and more
- Performing plant walk round and daily checks to ensure equipment is operating correctly and efficiently
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCES
We are open to considering applicants from a range of different industry backgrounds, it's not essential to have prior experience in the Biomass field.
We would however expect suitable applicants to have prior experiences of at least some of the following;
- Ability to work a full shift system with flexibility to provide support as needed to ensure the safe operation of the Plant
- Commitment to safe best practice and willingness to always observe company policy and values
- The willingness to learn and undergo a short training period which will involve learning the plant and the processes and procedures involved in operating a facility
- Demonstrable experience working with Permit-to-Work systems
