FARA Foundation was started 30 years ago by Jane Nicholson, driven by the sight of the appalling images of neglected and starving children in Romania’s state institutions, in the wake of the fall of Ceaucescu in Romania. Over the last thirty years FARA has cared for over 10,000 people transforming lives and giving hope of a better future to children and families living in severe disadvantage.

Working times
- Location: Remote
- Working Hours: 09:00 - 17:00
- 5 days per week, Monday - Friday
The role
Do you enjoy solving problems, helping others to deliver and being highly organised? Would you love to be part of a team that is working hard to raise money to transform lives through running leading London charity shops? Our FARA Operations Support Officer role could be what you are looking for.
A born administrator you will have strong IT technical abilities and excellent communication skills, and you will take ownership of the support needs for our shop teams. You will be the lynch pin for FARA’s 40 strong charity shop network, ensuring shop teams have access to the information they need to run these shops safely and effectively. You will be building relationships across the organisation and with external providers, so that you know our business inside and out and are able to respond reactively to shop support.

The Candidate
Essential skills, Knowledge, and Experience

- Systematic ways of working with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong competence with Excel / Sharepoint / Word & possibly Publisher
- IT technical ability to work with helpdesks
- Operational knowledge of shops
- Ability to understand technical aspects of expert functions (Health & Safety, Property, Finance etc) as they apply to shops
- Consistent and accurate information gathering
- Application of content guidelines
- Editing and Technical Writing
- Drive to achieve results
- Commitment to maintenance of document management standards, accuracy of information and development of guidelines
- Efficient ways of working
