Laboratory Systems IT Specialist

Enable our laboratory customers to improve multiple myeloma patient outcomes by being one of our global experts, leveraging product knowledge and technical competency to provide specialized support on our systems.
Up to 40% International travel with 1-2 days each fortnight based at HQ Birmingham.
The Role
- Be the subject-matter-expert on our laboratory systems IT, software, and IT hardware in addition to networking, interfacing, cybersecurity, PC imaging, HL7, ASTM.
- Work closely with R&D Systems & Software Development on IT solution design and software updates providing input and validation on key projects.
- Take ownership of the IT aspects of customer system implementations and troubleshooting, working with the Customer Resolutions Team on corrective measures.
- As part of the Global Services team, this role will establish standardized global processes and a curriculum on IT knowledge ensuring colleagues and partners across our global workforce have the necessary skills and competency to support our laboratory customers’ IT requirements.
- Lead efforts to establish system remote access tools for our technical services colleagues to support customers and develop standardized processes to ensure compliance, cybersecurity and data protection requirements.
- When required, attend customer visits for the implementation of our systems dealing directly with interfacing our laboratory systems with the customer LIS in collaboration with customer IT personnel.
Ideal Candidate
- Degree or Higher Education level qualification in IT-related subject, or relevant experience.
- IT experience within the medical diagnostics or life sciences industry
- Experience of working with LIS – installation, support, and troubleshooting
- IT knowledge specifically on networking, security, LIS, systems integration, HL7, ASTM
- Ability to travel at short-notice internationally providing remote and on-site support
- Fluency in English – both written and verbal.

Location: Remote / Hybrid- 1-2 days every fortnight in HQ Birmingham together with 40% international travel.
