The Role:
We are looking for an Operations Support Officer to join our Flight Operations team, which is an integral part of the established and world-renowned Safety & Airspace Regulation Group (SARG). You will provide essential business process and technical administrative support to the Flight Operations Managers and Inspectors, to ensure we effectively fulfil our regulatory obligations.
You will:
- Provide essential business support and coordination to the department.
- Support the inspecting team in preventing safety failings, through quality assurance and monitoring of records.
- Have an overview of scheduled tasks and ensure work is covered and relevant documentation produced to a high standard.
- Assist the inspecting team with technical assessments, including the raising of non-compliances and reviewing corrective action, as well as managing daily activities through performance planning, performance assurance and business assurance.
- Produce and monitor management information and analyse trends to help identify areas for improvement and support managerial decision making.
- Develop a sound working knowledge of the systems, processes, and procedures, as well as the regulatory framework.
- Develop a good working knowledge of regulatory and inter-departmental working practices by collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Provide ad-hoc administrative support to the management team, such as arranging and facilitating meetings and coordinating oversight events.
About You:
The role is best suited to an individual that works well within a team, has strong organisational and business support skills and a keen eye for detail. You should also:
- Be a confident communicator, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Be able to balance and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- Possess strong administrative skills, including confidence in the use of varied IT, technical and business systems.
- Can self-manage and make decisions.
- Be able to work with and understand detailed regulations, reporting processes, and approval requirements
Desirable but not essential:
- Previous experience in an aviation environment is advantageous. A knowledge of Air Operator Certificate Holders, Aircraft Leasing Approvals, Dangerous Goods Approvals, Non-Commercial Operations Organisations, Specialised Operations Organisations, Approved Training Organisations and Cabin Training Organisations.
Additional Information:
For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.
To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.
