As a Driver Manager, you'll be directly responsible for all aspects of effective people management. You'll get the most out of your team of train drivers, delivering operational excellence for both our customers and our business performance. You'll work hard on increasing employee engagement levels developing your team into true professionals, committed to delivering their best. You'll have a tight grasp of individual performance levels, managing problems as soon as they arise, whilst equally recognising consistency and discretionary effort. To support the needs of your team and our customers you'll need to show flexibility, working some late nights and weekends.
This is no job for a beginner; you should be an expert in people management. Naturally, you're a people person, professional and confident, skilled at developing great relationships. You have what it takes to influence people and inspire them with new ideas. You're passionate about high standards and place challenge appropriately, leading change with consideration and diplomacy. One last thing: Ideally you'll have some experience of working within a Unionised or regulated and safety conscious environment.
