As a Landside Response Officer in our Small Boats Operational team, you’ll be playing a crucial part in the Saving of Lives at Sea operation and identifying vulnerable people who may require medical or welfare support.
This is a demanding operational role where you’ll need to be resilient, empathetic and act with integrity. If you enjoy varied and rewarding work and want a challenge where no day is the same, we’ll help you shape a fantastic career and provide great benefits including:

Your role
Your Operations work will be mainly based at Dover or Ramsgate. However, you could also be based in Essex or West Sussex with access to official vehicles for travel to Dover and Ramsgate when necessary.

· Checking passengers and their documentation
· Interviewing individuals and carrying out investigations, searches, and arrests
· Dealing with casework queries and ensuring any decisions are followed up appropriately
· Visiting a range of maritime and high-risk locations on patrol and carrying out freight searches (you’ll need to be physically fit)
· Liaising with stakeholders and law enforcement partners to preserve evidence, arrest offenders and manage detention
· Collecting information to aid intelligence
When not required for small boat operations, the teams are likely to be deployed on priority work at other ports, such as, but not limited to Heathrow, Gatwick, Tilbury, London Gateway and Dover.
You’ll enjoy this career if you are
· Resilient and adaptable when dealing with challenging situations
· Enjoy variety with working different shifts and locations
· Able to keep calm, and act professionally and ethically to solve issues in sometimes difficult situations
