Are you a Operation Manager (Street Cleaning) for a new opportunity? I am working with Barking & Dagenham Council
Rate - £32 to £35 per hour
Your Role
- To assist the Head of Operations in developing short-, medium- and long-term strategic plans to deliver on agreed organisational objectives and ensure that outcomes are achieved to meet internal and external customers.
- To ensure that the Council’s corporate objectives and Waste Strategy, realising all potential reduction, reuse and recycling opportunities, potential cost savings and commercial opportunities, measured through key performance indicators in line with those of the original National Indicator NI195 and NI196.
- To be responsible for the for delivery of a range of services against agreed schedules and programmes of work, includingManage and accountable for the operational management of a team responsible for all Cleaner Community services and environmental quality of a defined geographic area b. Responsible for service delivery of recycling and waste collections, including domestic, green garden waste and trade waste
Responsible for service delivery of street cleansing (including deep cleansing and rapid response), bulky waste, fly-tipping, graffiti, caretaking, probation and community payback services
Accountable for robust and auditable inspections, including stock control, tools and equipment
Responsible for identifying and reporting required repairs to the relevant Council department
Manage and accountable for required minor repairs
Responsible for ensuring all Cleaner Communities services are carried out in line with the agreed cleaning schedules and cleaning quality standard, to improve the safety of our community and promote community actions to clean up our neighbourhoods
Engage with the Council’s Enforcement teams to tackle environmental crime.
- Responsible for the allocation of tasks to Operational Managers, directing resources to ensure high standards of work.
- Responsible for providing clear leadership and direction to Operational Managers, anticipating changing community requirements and the needs of operational services and develop and implement plans and policies to respond appropriately
Essentials
- Experience of Public Realm/Cleaner Communities operational service management in a multi-functional organisation for Street Cleansing
