As a Barclays Operations Manager - Payment Investigations you will be working for Global Payments who is a utility service providing payments processing, monitoring, analysis, and investigation services across the Barclays group. As a direct report of the Senior Operations Manager, you will be in charge of the delivery of a range of high value, high volume business critical processes. Within this role you will be accountable for ensuring requirements are agreed and adopted by process leads.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing the teams Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Leading the collation of MI for Payment Processing
  • Actively participating in projects ensuring business requirements are understood and agreed by Change team and Technology
  • Overseeing department User Acceptance Testing for changes and system enhancements whilst liaising as appropriate with the Technology and Change Teams
  • Ensuring a high level of payment industry and process knowledge is acquired and maintained personally and by Operations staff
  • Implementing, delivering and monitoring Regulatory Standards, to minimise and mitigate business risk
  • Championing team process improvement ideas under continuous improvement

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in Operational Management and owning complex and high-risk processes
  • Proven experience of operating a mature control environment and embedding risk culture
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully leading and managing a diverse change /continuous improvement agenda
  • Exceptional commercial awareness and track record in contributing to meeting financial targets


Skills that will help you in the role

  • Knowledge of Cheque Imaging payment schemes and associated processing applications
  • A general awareness of Project Management principles and their application

Where will you be working?

The Bournemouth Wealth Office is located between Bournemouth and Poole with Sandbanks beach no more than 500 metres from the front door. We have a significant number of restaurants and sports clubs locally which make this a great office to work in. We work very closely with our BUK colleagues and share the growing Barclays Eagle Lab on site. This creates significant interest across the region and provides an opportunity for the teams to get together regularly.
