Job summary
The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Jersey is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the day-today operations of the unit and support the wider FIUs delivery, influence and growth plan as it aims to be a world-leading FIU.
This is a senior and critical role and requires a proactive and engaging individual who is as comfortable with tactical detail as they are with strategic planning and is both a mentor and leader to the operations space and will foster and deliver a culture of continuous improvement across the FIU. The candidate must be passionate about countering financial crime and have excellent experience and a detailed understanding of the operating landscape.
This role reports directly to the Director FIU and has a wide range of significant responsibilities aimed at combating national and international financial crime. Duties include:
- Leadership, oversight and management of the FIU operational analysis teams.
- Co-ordination of operations matters with other FIU capabilities.
- Co-ordination and accountability of all casework.
- Co-ordination and planning for operational training and knowledge development.
- Direct the prioritisation and intelligence development opportunities of cases.
- Delivery of complex intelligence insight to a range of stakeholders.
- Manage the preparation of a diverse range of regular reporting and typology insights.
- Provide advice and input on processes, strategy and policy and implement as necessary.
- Deliver support, representation and insight to various stakeholders aligned to the FIU
external committees, forums and steering groups, including MONEYVAL and the EGMONT Group of FIUs.
- Act as the interim Data Protection Lead ensuring the security and confidentiality of data
- Deputise for the FIU Director.
The FIU is the national intelligence agency and competent authority responsible for the receipt, analysis and dissemination of intelligence developed from the submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and other reporting, aligned with Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) reporting obligations. It is central to all aspects of countering these threats, both to the island and internationally.
