We are looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to support the Operations Manager in a busy pub environment. Must be passionate about great customer service, delivering the best quality food and drink, and helping customers to experience our range of beers. As an Assistant Manager you will take full responsibility for every shift you lead. We expect you and your team to deliver exceptionally high standards, exceed sales targets and offer the best customer service in a safe and welcoming environment.
You should be ready to hit the ground running with previous relevant supervisory experience in a food led hospitality venue and be confident taking the lead and contributing ideas to growing your business.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Opening & closing the venue to the expected standards, and day to day operations
- Completing safety & security checks as required to ensure the venue is safe to operate
- Maximising turnover and revenue opportunities through effective stock management
- Monitoring customer enquiries and feedback and responding appropriately & timely
- Manage staffing levels daily appropriate to the business levels and within budget
- Liaise with the kitchen team, keeping menu availability up to date & food quality high
- Manage visitors & contractors attending site ensuring services are provided to the right level
- Keep accurate records of all events throughout each shift, resolving as required
- Controlling operational costs such as wastage, consumable use and discounts/refunds
- Be the face & voice of the venue interacting with all guests acting as a role model
- Ensure that stock and cash is effectively managed and secure completing daily cash ups
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Essential - Hospitality experience at supervisor level with duty management experience
- Essential - Significant understanding of the business and can show direct examples of key responsibilities and achievements.
- Understanding of how to manage people and support them to achieve their goals
- A good understanding of kitchen & cellar operations
- Experience of dealing with difficult situations and providing suitable resolutions
- Passion for driving the business forward and contributing ideas or solutions
- Able to act independently with minimal supervision and provide regular progress reports
