Research Services is one of the key professional services department supporting Oxford’s research and innovation community. The Research Funding and Contracts team within Research Services is key to this endeavour. We supported over 3,000 applications for research funding and executed over 5,000 research-related contracts for researchers across the University in 2021/22.
As the Operations Manager you will play a vital role in enabling the efficient and effective working of our large and diverse team supporting this community.

About the Role
This is a varied role covering strategy, training and communications.
You will support the senior management team in the strategic planning and development of the team and its operation.
You will work in partnership with all levels of seniority Research Services and the broader University, delivering projects and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and change.
You will maintain oversight of our web presence and other communications channels, co-ordinating with colleagues to ensure content is clear, current and appropriate.
You will lead the operational aspects of our engagement with Divisions to foster strong working relationships and to support our engagement with external funders.
You will also play a lead role on the identification and development of training for the team and the external Research Funding and Contracts training portfolio, exploring appropriate channels and platforms for training delivery.
About You
You will be self-motivated with excellent organisation skills, and the ability to manage a complex workload.
You will have a first-class interpersonal skill with the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders whilst continuously maintaining a strong customer service ethos.
You will also be someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, and have a strong track record of project delivery and introducing change.
