Operations Manager

Operations Manager London, England

Ultimate Performance
Full Time London, England 30000 - 35000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Have you ever dreamed of working with an energetic, globally recognized leader in personal training? Does the thought of being part of a world-class team inspire you? If so, Ultimate Performance, a brand that spans the globe from Los Angeles to Sydney, invites you to seize an unparalleled career opportunity with us.

We started out, literally, as a one-man band working in someone else's gym. Over the last 15 years we have grown up enormously, but the evolution never stops. We now span across eight countries, housing 21 exclusive, in-house gyms, crafted through years of sweat, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

Our journey of growth, accelerated despite the challenges posed by Covid-19, is an echo of our resilience and spirit. In true Ultimate Performance style, we didn't just survive; we emerged stronger, so not only are we set to weather the current economic storm, we hope that we can take advantage of it.

We have grown our business through genuine profit, not debt or mere cash flow. We currently have six new sites in the offing, four in London (taking us to nine London sites ranging from Canary Wharf moving west across to Chelsea), and one in Los Angeles, where we already have two gyms, and the incredibly exciting brand-new challenge of opening in Taipei, Taiwan!

At the heart of our operation in Manchester, England, a 100-strong team ensures smooth functioning across marketing, technology, finance, and operations. Our staff count globally? A robust 550 individuals committed to the Ultimate Performance brand.

As a company nurtured by personal trainers, our sole focus has been creating an outstanding return on investment for our clients. This distinctive approach has propelled us to the apex of personal training. However, we realize our gym operations' potential remains untapped.

Addressing this gap with unwavering focus over the past 18 months, we're thrilled to progress to the next stage - developing our operations and maturing as a company. This advancement takes form as our inaugural non-personal training, trainee gym management positions.

Our mission? To cultivate world-class gym operations managers, prepared for the high-pressure, high-standards environment that is the cornerstone of Ultimate Performance. Through our structured 6-month Trainee Manager program, we aim to create a global cadre of Operations Managers eager to make their mark.

As a Trainee manager, we'll immerse you in our unique gym operations and client management strategies. Our goal? To move you into a role where you have full responsibility of a single gym, at which time your journey and the hard work, really starts!

You will not be asked to manage personal trainers or work with the PT product, instead, you will work hand in glove with the relevant local, regional, and global leadership teams to help create a seamless experience for both our clients and our training team alike.

This position will initially be based in London, the hub of our most established sites, for the first six months. However, the successful candidate must be open to long-term assignments outside of the UK post-training.

The ideal candidates will:

Possess meticulous attention to detail – a non-negotiable quality for this role

Understand the need for process adherence, mindful of its outcomes and effects

Proactively provide feedback on current procedures, suggesting improvements

Display an active mindset to find inspiration in their job – a rare attribute that we value

Be a "missionary", not a "mercenary"

In this role, there's no room for winging it. Precision, dedication, and a genuine drive for growth are the keys to success.

If you believe you're a fit for this unique opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
