Role: Trainee Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central West Scotland (Urban Union)

You’ll learn about the job, on the job, whilst we support you through further studies, so you’ll gain qualifications as well as work experience and skills. As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the production of monthly applications for payments / valuations
- Compiling material take-offs from plans
- Assisting with compilation of tenders
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly forecasts / cashflows
- Record keeping and documentation associated with sub-contracts
- Assisting in the procurement of sub-contractors, TCI Meetings, minutes, procurement schedules
- Assisting in the management of sub-contractors, record keeping, payment notices, site instructions
- Assisting in record keeping, maintaining contemporary records and updating these on the Project Page
- HNC/HND/Bsc (Hons) (or currently working towards or prepared to)
- Complimentary relevant experience
- Ability to work under pressure
- Methodical approach
- Numerate
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate
- Willingness to learn
As a Trainee we understand this may be one of your first roles so we’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in Quantity Surveying. Experience within this sector would be great however if you can demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach with excellent written and verbal communications skills this could be the role for you. We will support you through your Traineeship to develop and progress in your chosen career path.
