Job description
The UCSF California Preterm Birth Initiative is currently seeking an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of the operations of PTBi. The Operations Manager will manage and implement a range of operations and project management deliverables for PTBi, which will be informed through a race equity and community-centered lens. They will supervise two members of the Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for program planning with operational needs, researching organizational structures, policies and procedures to create and manage standard operating procedures for the initiative. They may also assist with strategic planning and sustainability efforts.
The Operations Manager receives general direction from the Associate Director in the form of objectives with deadline driven goals. The specific responsibilities and duties that this position will be expected to perform are as follows:
- Provide high level project management, administrative and training support for the PTBi-CA operations team
- Work in partnership with the PTBi-CA leadership team to build standard operating procedures for the initiative

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in public health, public policy, psychology, sociology or related area and/or equivalent experience / training
- Three-plus (3+) years of experience in program coordination, operations and community engagement or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs, including Microsoft 365, RedCap and ability to learn CRM database management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality
- Analytical / problem-solving skills
- Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses
- Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes
- Strong policy analysis techniques
- Strong project management skills. Demonstrated skills in providing full operational, coordination and project support
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong familiarity with UC policies and procedures and compliance rules and regulations
