Job Title: Operations Manager
Reporting to: Lead Pastor
Hours: 24 - 40 hours (three to five days) per week
Salary Range: £25,878 to £27,852 (pro rata depending on qualifications and experience)

Tubestation is a registered charity, cafe and working Methodist church. Our trustees, staff and church community aim to use the resources at its disposal to be a Christian presence within surf culture, provide leisure facilities for young people and create a space that is safe and inclusive for all people who walk through our doors.
Job purpose:
The Operations Manager is a new post. Its primary function is to ensure the smooth running of the business and administration functions of the church, café and art gallery. This will include provision of a comprehensive administrative service, designing and implementing systems and procedures as required, ensuring the smooth running of Tubestation’s Operations, excellent record-keeping and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive administrative service.
- Ensure that all systems and processes are fit for purpose and are maintained in a format which facilitates easy access to other stake holders as required.
- Oversee cafe and gallery operations in partnership with the café, gallery and Tubestation management teams.
- Work with staff, volunteers and the leadership team to ensure that appropriate induction training is in place.
- Work closely with members of the leadership team to ensure that regulatory requirements are met.
- Complete day to day book keeping; monthly reviews of finance; quarterly VAT returns; annual accounts.
- Produce relevant management information.
- Manage enquiries.
- Work with the leadership team to ensure effective succession planning for staff, volunteers, interns and apprentices
- Contribute to the vision and strategy for the future of Tubestation.
- Oversee buildings insurance and other compliance requirements.
- Work with the leadership team and external specialists to ensure identification and implementation of relevant policies, procedures and guidelines in a timely manner.
- Assist the leadership team with recruitment of staff and volunteers; manage the recruitment and induction processes.
- Work with the leadership team to ensure that church / café news and activities are effectively communicated. This will include ensuring that the website and other social media platforms are updated and developed as necessary.
- Oversee an events diary communicating with the congregation as appropriate.
- Other related tasks as identified by the leadership team.
Terms and Conditions
- There is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the equality Act (2010) for this post to be held by a practicing Christian.
- The role is flexible, with a minimum of three days (24 hours) up to five days (40 hours) per week. Attendance outside of normal hours will be required from time to time, for which time off in lieu will be available.
- Salary will be £25,878 to £27,852 (full time equivalent) dependent upon training and experience, plus NI, pension contributions and agreed expenses.
- 20 days annual leave plus bank / public holidays pro rata.
- The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
- The post is subject to a six-month probationary period
- A driving license and access to a car is necessary
