Operations Manager – Full Time
We are looking to recruit an Operations Manager for The Packhouse. We offer a permanent full-time position working a 5-day week, normally Monday – Friday, but on occasion when staffing levels dictate then it will be necessary to cover a weekend shift.
Pay & benefits:
The salary offered for this position is between £40,000 and £45,000.

As Operations Manager you will:
- Motivate and inspire your team to run an efficient shop and to provide great service to our customers.
- Be fully accountable to the business owner for the entire business operation and responsible for ensuring that customers are looked after, deliveries and business routines are managed quickly and to maintain a safe, functional and tidy environment.
- Various administration tasks are an integral part of this role, such as: reconciling income and expense, maintaining close control of inventory and stock levels, invoicing and management of in-house traders and their respective spaces, managing bank accounts, oversight of profit & loss account.
- Coordinate new/existing independent traders with onboarding, issuing contracts, monitoring their offerings and managing the current and future rental space opportunities in order to derive the maximum income for the business.
- Be responsible for the delivery of all in-house Human Resources activity maintaining compliance with all legal responsibilities.
- Be responsible for recruitment, induction and ongoing training and development of your team, through leadership, mentoring, feedback and appraisals.
- Be responsible for delivering a safe environment for staff, customers and visitors in compliance with all Health & Safety legislation.
- Take responsibility for the appropriate control of all key business costs including payroll, consumables and site maintenance to achieve all KPI’s, reporting directly to the owner.
- Oversee and drive our social media and marketing activities to grow our existing online presence and to increase the wider brand awareness. Seek new and innovative approaches to positively grow The Packhouse brand.
- Be an out of hours emergency contact and business keyholder.
You will need:

- To be a trustworthy, reliable and an important part of a small team.
- Experience as a manager or assistant manager in a retail environment is required.
- A good working knowledge of EPoS systems, QuickBooks (or similar), time & attendance systems and MS Office suite is advantageous.
