We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join the team.
This is a newly created position, responsible for overseeing the operations of two of our UK manufacturers: Global Upholstery Solutions and 3DPly. Both Companies are part of the Stannah Group.
Global Upholstery Solutions and 3DPly are leading manufacturers of high-quality upholstered and wood components. Our components are used in a variety of industries, including automotive, office, and healthcare. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence and exceptional customer service.
Global Upholstery Solutions and 3DPly are based in Andover, Hampshire and Blandford, Dorset. The Operations Manager will support both Companies, providing a great opportunity to work in a multi site environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of production processes, managing staff, and maintaining high-quality standards. The role requires a hands-on approach to managing and motivating staff, as well as a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering excellent results.
We are looking for an experienced Manager with solid operations experience from a manufacturing environment, preferably with a background in the production of upholstered or wood components. Successful candidates will hold current or previous production or manufacturing roles, with experience of running day to day factory operations, across multi sites. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and strong analytical and computer skills are essential.
You will be confident to manage staff and HR related issues, demonstrating strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve production efficiency and quality, including implementation of lean manufacturing techniques
- Manage day-to-day operations across two sites, ensuring the smooth running of production processes and meeting production targets, including achieving company KPIs for on-time in full, quality and cost targets
- Manage and motivate a team of production staff, including recruiting, training, and appraising staff
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Monitor and report on production performance, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action
- Work closely with other departments, including sales and design, to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time and to a high standard
- Manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available for production
- Monitor and control production costs to ensure profitability
- Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure high-quality standards are maintained
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
- Higher Qualification in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
