Job description
We are looking for an experienced arboricultural and grounds maintenance operations manager to join our team. At Royal Oak Tree Services Ltd we have a diverse range of public sector, local government and construction industry clients. You will be a key part of our team helping with prior experience of dealing in large scale private and public sector contracts and passing on that experience.
You will work closely with our managers to deliver high quality projects within budget and on schedule. You will be responsible for helping to deliver these projects. Typical projects include local authority and highways infrastructure. This role will have a focus on grounds maintenance works and associated works within our wider arboricultural business.
We are looking for a motivated and hard-working individual with a proven track record and a background in delivering works, who will enjoy the challenge of working in a small fast-growing ambitious company and being part of a professional team dedicated to growing a sustainable business.
Requirements
· 5 years’ experience delivering arboricultural and grounds maintenance contracts
· An understanding of large site clearance equipment including excavators with attachments, whole tree chippers, tractors and lorries.
· SMSTS qualified (desirable).
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
· Driving license.
· A clear understanding of site protocol and operational requirements on both commercial and domestic projects
The person:
· Have an excellent technical understanding of arboriculture and grounds maintenance with a particular understanding of mechanized arboriculture works and highways maintenance cyclical works
· Highly motivated, self-driven individual with excellent attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to adapt to project changes efficiently and to observe contract and site specific protocol.
· Highway Experience desirable
· Desire to grow the business, increasing both the breadth and depth of customer work streams.
· Strong verbal & written communication skills.
· Good time management skills – able to prioritise and multi-task.
The Role
Principle Responsibilities:
· Managing and executing works against the company’s budget & programme.
· Health & Safety requirements on site, including creating & briefing method statements and risk assessments, toolbox talks, allocation of tools to appropriately trained staff, ensuring all accidents and close calls are reported.
