The talent team at NET Recruit are delighted to be partnering with a global logistics business who are searching for an Operations Manager to join their team located in the Southampton area. The company is highly successful and has built up a presence across the globe, working together with businesses across multiple sectors including aerospace, automotive, high-tech and also medical. The position holder within this role will hold a role of great importance, leading the Operations Team by example to ensure daily tasks are completed, KPIs are met and that the team have all the resources they need at their disposal to succeed and support the business across its functions. There will be an integration across multiple departments in the business including the logistics and sales teams. You will be ensuring that customer jobs are costed appropriately, and that all paperwork is completed accordingly.
Your Role and Responsibilities
While in this position your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Managing the operations team on day-to-day tasks to ensure KPIs are being met, utilising the company systems daily and highlighting any issues to the Director
- Taking responsibility for ensuring that all paperwork related to goods being shipped from the business
- Overseeing the costing for jobs to ensure that the business experiences maximum profitability
- Keeping up to date with all regulatory requirements surrounding the industry from authorities and government agencies
- Checking the internal systems daily to check of errors and ensure all data is reflected accurately
What you will need to Apply:
The business requires applicants to have strong operations experience within a comparable role, as well as exposure and knowledge of customs and logistics, ideally from working within an import/export environment. Applicants will need to be strong communicators and skilled in managing teams of people and processes. You will need excellent systems knowledge and capabilities and the ability to manage a complex workload involving several varying factors.
What you will get in Return:
The successful candidate will receive a starting salary in the region of £55,000 depending on previously Operations and Logistics experience and industry knowledge.
