THE ROLE
The Operations Manager role is a key member of the management team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The role holder will have overall responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of key business functions, e.g. IT, Business Operations, HR and Facilities. The role is office-based in London and includes the development and implementation of new operational strategies, policies, team development and continuous improvement to drive operational excellence within the business.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and direct the daily operations of the company
- Manage the Facilities, HR and IT teams
- Be responsible for the budget planning and strategic direction of central operations
- Process map, redevelop and re-design company and operational processes and procedures to ensure they are fit for purpose for current trading and future growth
- Design and implement operational business strategies, plans and procedures
- Overall responsibility for ensuring the company is compliant with all relevant legislation
- Responsibility for the creation and regular review of company policies
- Design the Human Resources strategic and culture initiatives and oversee their execution
- Ensure people plan and structures fit business need
- Support HR with the creation and implementation of company culture initiatives
- Provide support and advice to the COO and other stakeholders on the areas of responsibility.
- Lead expansion activities, and represent the company wherever required to support COO
- Address any future potential business needs through robust operational planning

ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience working as an Operations Manager or in a similar role with a strong understanding of central business functions including HR, IT & Facilities with demonstrable competency in planning, organisation and execution of processes and procedures in these areas.
In addition, our ideal candidate will have strong business knowledge and experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment and have exposure to managing budgets.
It would be desirable but is not essential for previous industry experience working within Deep Tech/Green Tech/Bio-Tech ecosystem.
