Job description
Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity is a Norfolk based organisation providing support services for palliative and end-of-life-care within the Priscilla Bacon Lodge and in our community. We are entering a new phase of our development with the opening of a new purpose built Hospice and extending our reach into communities.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our Senior Management Team as Operations Manager.
This role will lead our organisational operations across finance, HR, IT, facilities, and administration. As we grow at PBHC, we need a skilled and designated function to ensure we are operating effectively, transforming the Charity into a key player in fundraising the provision of Palliative care support services within the new Priscilla Bacon Lodge which will open this summer and in the wider community.
You will be responsible for the smooth-running of PBHC finances, HR, and facilities, with an important reporting function to funders and the trustee Board. You will be an essential part of the SMT, steering both day to day response to emerging issues and strategic development. In that role, you’ll ensure the SMT’s decision making is informed by a strong understanding of financial position and organisational liabilities.
About You
As Operations Manager, you will be an experienced and versatile generalist who can diligently complete a wide variety of tasks and successfully juggle competing priorities. You will ensure the organisation runs smoothly across a variety of domains including finance, charity compliance, human resources, fundraising, logistics, and the development of internal processes and policies.
You will have passion for the PBHC mission, you will be passionate about performance and focused on constantly seeking out improvements and questioning the status quo in pursuit of a better solution or system.
Being able prioritise what’s most important to deliver the strategy and to cut through what can sometimes seem complex to deliver the things that really make a difference is important. Increasingly developing and working in wider partnerships is key to the way we work to deliver our strategy.
Hours for role are 40 hours per week – to be worked in accordance with the needs of the service, which may include weekend and bank holiday working.
